Tolcarne Inn – Ben Tunicliffe Newlyn
Tolcarne Inn is the sister-restaurant to Ben Tunicliffe’s new venture at the Beachside Restaurant in Sennen.
Both venues feature Ben’s tasty and imaginative food, which has been delighting fans for 15 years. Ben has been one of Cornwall’s leading chefs since winning a Michelin star at the Abbey Restaurant and then running the kitchens at the Scarlet Hotel.
“Quality and consistency is just as important but as a pub we are more accessible and affordable,” he says.
The pub is just across the bridge from Newlyn fishmarket and the menu is written up daily on a blackboard for lunch and dinner. There is a usually a meat option and vegetarians can also be catered for. The pub has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2013.
You’ll get a friendly welcome at the Tolcarne, and the atmosphere is relaxed and informal, with a real log fire. There is a good selection of real ales and wine by the glass.
Summer open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Winter: lunch Tue - Sun 12 - 2.15pm, and dinner Tue - Sat 7 - 9pm.
