The Bakehouse and Steakhouse Restaurant

The Bakehouse is a friendly, relaxed and welcoming restaurant with a carefully-chosen menu produced from the freshest local produce.
Andy and Rachel Carr have been delighting customers since 2004 with the quality of their food and service. They are passionate about using Cornish ingredients, sourcing produce as locally as possible.
The food is colourful and bold, and the flexibility of the menu ensures that there is always something for everyone. It has the best selection of chargrilled steaks Penzance has to offer alongside the finest fish Newlyn fishermen can catch!
Andy heads up the kitchen and Rachel is front of house, with a staff that have been with them for many years and they say is like a big family. It’s an approach which has made the Bakehouse a firm favourite with locals and drawn visitors to return year after year.
‘We all have the same ethos, which is to help customers celebrate, catch up, and have a special night out,’ says Rachel. ‘We get huge job satisfaction when our diners are relaxed and enjoying themselves.’
The restaurant is set in the original bakery in the most historic part of Penzance. It is tucked away in its own secluded palm-filled courtyard. Inside it is modern and contemporary yet warm and inviting, with displays showcasing local art.
The Bakehouse has been included in The Good Food Guide since 2008 and holds the Trip Advisor certificate of excellence.

Open Tuesday - Saturday from 6.15pm. Early bird menu available Monday - Friday (order before 7pm).
