Spires Restaurant
Spires Restaurant is a training kitchen for students and apprentices at Truro College who study a range of professional cookery, food and beverage service and barista qualifications aimed to raise the standard of Cornwall’s chef talent.
The menu changes daily with fresh, seasonal local produce. The licensed restaurant is en route to the Truro City centre, with full wheelchair access and ample car parking.
A coffee shop is open daily for Barista-style coffee and cakes.
It offers home-made jams and chutneys, along with freshly-made bread and cakes to take away.
Starters include baked flat mushroom with olive and goats cheese cous cous. Main courses include slow braised belly pork, with crackling, apple purée, purple sprouting broccoli and dauphinoise potatoes. Desserts include chocolate pannacotta with salted caramel and shortbread.
Open for lunch Mon - Fri 12 - 1.30pm. Two courses £7.50, three courses £9.50 and Tue evenings 5 - 7.30pm. £9.50 for two courses and £11.50 for three courses. Advanced booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment. The restaurant also has regular speciality food evenings. Email or phone to be added to the mailing list. Spires offers catering for private parties and the restaurant can be booked for functions.
