The Somerville Gallery
Somerville Gallery is now well established on the Rame Peninsula at Maker Heights.
After 20 years in Plymouth, the gallery’s situation in one of the most beautiful positions in Cornwall, is a huge change and a wonderful destination for new and established clients. There are no parking problems – and a great restaurant for lunch.
The gallery is currently showing a selection of Rame Artists such as Heath Hearn and Katy Brown, long-established and successful local painters at Rame. Also Chelsea Williams and Charlie Wildy.
JK Lawson and Steve Joy, who both alternate between America and Rame, have paintings on show. They are both very successful in America, both originally from UK, and both would love to be at Maker full-time, though find America a more lucrative market.
The Cornish greats like Sir Terry Frost and local legend Robert Lenkiewicz are always represented. Internationally known sculptors David Begbie, Heather Jansch and Paul Vanstone are shown.
There are a host of guest artists too long to detail. Art should be challenging and interesting, says gallery owner Paul Somerville. The artists he has chosen are serious and dedicated to their chosen profession.
